I am a reconstructive urologist and surgical educator at UC San Diego Health, with work centered on complex pelvic floor and lower urinary tract conditions, mentorship, and making medicine more thoughtful and human.
I am a reconstructive urologist and surgical educator at UC San Diego Health, specializing in pelvic floor disorders, neurourology, and complex lower urinary tract reconstruction. I am among the highest-volume surgeons in San Diego performing transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) for pelvic floor disorders, an incision-sparing reconstructive approach performed through the vaginal route.
My practice includes sacral neuromodulation, bladder augmentation, urinary diversion, urethral and ureteral reconstruction, post-prostatectomy incontinence, and care for adults with congenital urologic conditions transitioning from pediatric to adult care. I tailor treatment to each patient’s goals, including surgical and nonsurgical options for prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction.
My academic work focuses on lived experiences in neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction, pelvic floor disorders, and survivorship after prostate cancer treatment. I have contributed to national work on disparities in urologic care, treatment patterns, and bladder assessment, while building educational initiatives around resilience, leadership, belonging, and mentorship. The throughline is practical: better care for patients and better training environments for learners.
